Settings

Settings are accessible via the menu bar icon → Preferences...

General

Global Hotkey: Key combination to start capture (default: ⌘⇧7)
Capture window shadows: Includes window shadows in the screen capture
Show capture hint: Shows "Select area · ESC to cancel" when starting a capture
Launch at Login: Automatically open FreezeText when your Mac starts (macOS 13+)

OCR

Recognition languages: Select languages for text recognition (default: system languages + German + English)
QR/barcode detection: Automatic detection of QR codes and barcodes (always active)

Text Processing

Remove line breaks: Joins multi-line text into a paragraph (default: off)
Cleanup whitespace: Removes extra whitespace (default: on)
Fix hyphenation: Removes hyphens at line ends (default: on)

History

Enable history: Saves captured texts in history (default: on)
Maximum entries: 10 to 100 (default: 50)
Auto-delete after: 7, 14, 30 or 90 days — or never (default: 30 days)
Clear all: Removes all history entries (with confirmation dialog)
Export: Download history as JSON or CSV

API

Enable API server: Starts the local HTTP server (default: off)
Port: HTTP port of the server (default: 9876)
API token: Optional Bearer token for authentication
