Description

Create and manage Linux and macOS VMs directly on your Mac — without Parallels, without VMware, without subscriptions. Nemeton uses Apple's Virtualization.framework for native performance without overhead. Install Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora or Arch Linux with automatic ISO download. On Apple Silicon, also create macOS VMs with automatic IPSW download. Each VM is individually configurable: CPU cores, RAM, storage, networking (NAT or Bridged), audio, USB devices and shared folders. With copy-on-write snapshots on APFS, save VM states without additional disk space. The inline display supports fullscreen, and real-time diagnostics show CPU/RAM metrics and uptime. For developers and system administrators, Nemeton offers a REST API with 42 endpoints, WebSocket/SSE events, webhooks and MCP integration for Claude Desktop. Rosetta 2 enables x86_64 binaries in ARM Linux VMs. Free during the beta — no subscription, no account. Local Execution

All VMs run locally on your Mac; their contents and disk images do not leave it. No analytics, tracking or advertising services. Nemeton connects to our servers for licence checks and updates and for support diagnostics (name and state of the Mac and its macOS VMs, no contents; can be switched off in the settings). The optional AI agent only transmits data when you use it.

Can I create macOS VMs?

Yes, on Apple Silicon. Linux VMs on both Intel and Apple Silicon.

Do I need Parallels or VMware?

No, Nemeton uses Apple's native Virtualization.framework. No third-party software needed.

Is it a subscription?

No. During the beta, Nemeton is free — no subscription, no account. You only need a subscription for Nemeton Cloud, the AI assistant via our server (EUR 14.99 per month or EUR 149.99 per year incl. VAT). With your own API key or locally with Ollama you use the assistant without a subscription.

Which Linux distributions are supported?

Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora and Arch Linux with automatic ISO download.

Which macOS version is required?

macOS 14 Sonoma or later.
